Alan Balfour earned a law degree from the University of Michigan and a PhD. in Social Science from Michigan State University, worked in the private sector in management for the Procter & Gamble Company and served almost four decades as a college professor teaching business leadership courses.  For 15 years he served as a department chairman.  He is well acquainted by both experience and contacts with the nature of careers in business, law and academia.
